Embrace Mistakes And Imperfections
- 11 Aug 2022
In the age of social media, it is too easy for others to see only the wonderful side of a person. Most of the times, we are not able to see the imperfections or mistakes or problems of someone because they only show the wonderful aspects of their lives to their social media.
I know that I am not a perfect person. In fact, I am a person with flaws and mistakes. I had often been criticized that I am not a sociable person and lack even basic social skills. And they are absolutely right in their criticisms. It is very difficult for me to be somebody I am not.
And I would like to say to everybody that is ok and there is nothing wrong with being a flawed human being. And that would be my approach with kids (and people generally), to be kind and compassionate and embrace their mistakes and imperfections and tell them that there is nothing wrong with them. You are not helping the world nor yourself by beating yourself up because you made mistakes or that you're imperfect.
In Ad Astra College, I would like to do things differently from how the society does it. We don't punish kids for making mistakes. We guide them; we support them; we explain to them better ways of doing things. I would like to create safe spaces where the kids can be themselves. We want these kids to be able to express themselves freely and share their thoughts without prejudice.
