Every Kid Is Different

Every kid is different. I know because I was one of them. The problem with traditional schools is that they are like factories, with very stringent process, churning out kids as if they are all the same. Most of my education started after I had left schools. In fact, schools nearly killed my joy of learning. I was very fortunate to rediscover my passion for learning later in life but it does not have to be this way. In Ad Astra College, I would like to ensure that it would not be this way.

Kids should be free to express themselves and their interests and their dreams. Somewhere out there is a kid who is a dancer that does not like Math. Somewhere out there is a kid who is an artist that does not like Science. Somewhere out there is a kid who is an entrepreneur that does not like conformity. And that’s ok because the world does not need 8 billion engineers.

We want to help kids do what they love. We would like to help them realize their passion so that life becomes meaningful to them. Sometimes, as adults, we just need to get out of the way and not kill their dreams. I would like to end with some lyrics from the song “Greatest Love of All”.

I believe the children are our future
Teach them well and let them lead the way
Show them all the beauty they possess inside
Give them a sense of pride to make it easier
Let the children's laughter remind us how we used to be

I decided long ago
Never to walk in anyone's shadows
If I fail, if I succeed
At least I'll live as I believe
No matter what they take from me
They can't take away my dignity

Because the greatest love of all
Is happening to me
I found the greatest love of all
Inside of me
The greatest love of all
Is easy to achieve
Learning to love yourself
It is the greatest love of all

And to every kid out there, I hope you have the greatest love of all.
